When you need to use two pronouns in the same sentence, the adverbial pronouns **y** (there) and **en** (some of it, of them) almost always come **last**. If your sentence has a pronoun for a person and also uses **y** or **en**, the person goes first. Both pronouns are placed right before the conjugated verb.

### Giving and Serving with "en"

When serving food, pouring drinks, or pointing things out, you will often say you are giving "some" of it to someone. Combine the object pronoun for the person with **en**.

Notice that **me** and **te** drop their vowels before **en** to become **m'en** and **t'en**.

### Accompanying with "y"

When you talk about guiding someone or dropping them off at a location, you combine the pronoun for the person with **y** (there). Just like with *en*, **me** and **te** drop their vowels to become **m'y** and **t'y**.

### Combining "y" and "en"

If you ever need to use both **y** and **en** at the same time, **y** comes first. You will hear this most frequently with the expression *il y a* (there is / there are). To say "there is some of it", you say **il y en a**.
