Why is there no Farsi word for "at" at the beginning of the sentence?

How does ākhar-e translate to "the end of"? Where is the "of"?
The "of" comes from the ezafe, which is the short "e" sound connecting ākhar (end) to in māh (this month). It links the two parts together to mean "the end of this month".
How would I change this to say "after this month" using the prepositions from this lesson?
To say "after this month", you would replace ākhar-e with the preposition ba'd az (after). The time phrase would simply become ba'd az in māh, leaving the rest of the sentence exactly the same.
Why isn't the subject "we" written as a separate word in the Farsi sentence?
The subject "we" is already built into the verb hastim (we are). The ending -im tells us who is doing the action, so you don't need to add the separate word mā (we) unless you want to emphasize it.
