Questions & Answers about تخیل یکی از بهترین ابزارهای انسان محسوب می‌شود.
How does تخیل (takhayyol) fit the Form V / Tafa'ol pattern we are studying?
تخیل follows the exact 'ta-C1-a-C2-C2-o-C3' pattern! It is built from the Arabic root خ ی ل (kh-y-l), which relates to illusion or fancy. By fitting this root into the Form V template (ta-kh-a-y-y-o-l), it creates a noun denoting the mental process of imagining. Notice the doubled middle consonant (the 'y' sound), which is a key signature of this pattern.
What does the word محسوب mean on its own in the verb محسوب می‌شود?
محسوب (mahsoob) is an Arabic passive participle from the root ح س ب (h-s-b), meaning "to count" or "calculate" (related to حساب / hesab, meaning account). Literally, محسوب می‌شود means "it becomes counted as" or "it is calculated as," which is the standard, formal way to say "it is considered" in Farsi.
Could I just say فکر می‌شود instead of محسوب می‌شود to mean "is considered"?
No, فکر می‌شود (fekr mishavad) sounds unnatural in this context. While it literally translates to "it is thought," Farsi relies on verbs related to counting or tallying for classifying things. You will almost always see محسوب شدن (mahsoob shodan) or به شمار رفتن (be shomar raftan) when expressing that something is "regarded as" or "considered to be" a certain thing.
