Questions & Answers about بیا راجع به این موضوع همفکری کنیم.
Why do we use the singular biyâ ("come") when the main verb konim is "let us do" (plural)?
When you informally suggest doing something to just one other person, you use the singular imperative biyâ. Even though the proposal is for "us" to do it together (which is why we use the "we" form konim for the main verb), the invitation to act is directed at a single person. If you were addressing a group, you would use the plural biyâid.
How does the word ham-fekri mean "brainstorm"?
It is made of parts you likely already know: ham means "together" or "same", and fekr means "thought" or "idea". The -i suffix turns this into a noun for the activity ("thinking together"). When paired with the verb kardan (used here as konim), it literally translates to "to do thinking-together", which is the natural way to say "brainstorm" in Farsi.
Since "let's brainstorm" requires the subjunctive mood, why doesn't konim have the be- prefix?
Because it is part of a compound verb (ham-fekri kardan). With many compound verbs that use kardan (to do), the subjunctive is often formed just by attaching the personal ending to the present stem (kon-) without adding the be- prefix. Saying ham-fekri bekonim is also correct, but dropping the be- is extremely common and natural.
We used râje' be here for "about". Could we use darbâre-ye instead?
