Why do we use az ân (from it) instead of a word for "through which"?
Farsi does not have prepositional relative pronouns like "through which" or "in whom". Instead, it uses ke to start the relative clause, and then includes a normal pronoun later to refer back to the noun. Here, ân (it) points back to the gate. Doesn't az usually mean "from"? Why is it translated as "through" here?
