Why is there no word for "on" before چهارشنبه (Wednesday)?
In Farsi, you don't need a preposition like "on" before days of the week. You just say the day itself! So placing چهارشنبه at the start of the sentence perfectly translates to "On Wednesday".
How does مادرم mean "my mother"?
It combines the word مادر (mother) with the possessive suffix م (-am), which means "my". Attaching this short ending to the end of a noun is the standard way to show ownership in Farsi.
Does میآید mean "she is coming" or "she comes"?
It can mean both! Farsi uses the exact same verb tense (built with the می prefix) for actions happening right now, in the near future, or habitually. Because we established the time is چهارشنبه, "is coming" makes the most sense in English.
Why does the word میآید have the آ letter with a "hat" in the middle of it?
The base stem for the verb "to come" is آی (ay), which starts with the "ah" sound represented by آ. When we attach the present tense prefix می (mi) to the front, the آ keeps its "hat" so we know exactly how to pronounce it: میآید (mi-ayad).
