Before clauses (ghabl az inke)

Setting up a market stall requires a strict routine. To describe a sequence of tasks and say "before [doing something]," Farsi uses قبل از اینکه or پیش از اینکه.

Because the action in the "before" clause has not yet happened at the time of the main action, the verb that follows must be in the present subjunctive.

The "before" clause can easily sit at the beginning of your sentence to set the stage for your routine at the stall (غرفه).

Notice how the subjunctive verb in the "before" clause matches the person doing that specific action, such as handling the rolling shutter (کرکره) or the awning (سایبان).

As the morning progresses, you prepare for the customers.

Finally, at the end of the shift, it is time to count the till (دخل).

Whether the "before" clause is at the front of the sentence or trails at the end, it always triggers the subjunctive.
