Why do we use hetzelfde here instead of dezelfde?
The word T-shirt is a het word in Dutch (het T-shirt). When you describe a singular het word as 'the same', you must use hetzelfde. If it were a de word or a plural word, you would use dezelfde.
Why is the adjective rode instead of rood? Don't adjectives before het words sometimes drop the -e?
Yes, but an adjective before a het word only drops the -e if it comes after an indefinite word like een or geen (or no article at all). Because hetzelfde acts as a definite word (it even has het built right into it!), the adjective gets the standard -e ending, making it rode.
Why does kopen go at the very end of the sentence?
The phrase laten we (let's) works together with a main action verb. Just like when you use modal helper verbs (like kunnen or moeten), the main verb (kopen) is pushed to the very end of the clause. Literally, the word order is: 'Let us the same red T-shirt buy!'
