How does the voice stacking work in görüştürdü?
It starts with the root gör (to see). Adding the reciprocal suffix -üş creates görüşmek (to see each other / to meet). Then, the causative suffix -tür is attached to create görüştürmek (to cause to meet / to bring together). Finally, -dü is the simple past tense ending.
Why does görüştürdü take the accusative bizi instead of the dative bize?
This is a tricky rule with causatives! If a base verb is transitive, the person forced to do the action takes the dative. However, once we add the reciprocal suffix -üş to make görüşmek, the verb becomes intransitive (people just meet, they do not meet a direct object). When an intransitive verb gets a causative suffix, the person being made to do the action takes the accusative, which is why we use bizi.
Is uzlaştırmak another example of reciprocal-causative stacking?
Conceptually, yes. The verb uzlaşmak (to reach an agreement or reconcile) already contains a mutual, reciprocal meaning through the -laş suffix. Adding the causative suffix -tır turns it into uzlaştırmak (to cause to agree / to reconcile multiple parties).
Why isn't there a second bizi before uzlaştırmak?
Turkish frequently drops pronouns when the context makes them obvious. Since bizi was already established as the object in the first clause, it is naturally understood as the object of uzlaştırmak in the second clause. Repeating it would sound unnatural.
