Questions & Answers about Birtakım insanların kripto piyasasında manipülasyon yapacağı ihtimali çok yüksek.
How does the phrase yapacağı ihtimali work here, and why does ihtimal have an -i suffix?
This is the core structure for linking clauses to abstract nouns. The clause insanların... yapacağı (that people will manipulate) acts as a modifier. To connect this modifying clause to the abstract noun ihtimal (possibility), Turkish treats the whole block as an indefinite noun compound. Therefore, ihtimal gets the 3rd person possessive suffix -i to complete the link.
Since the subject of the clause is insanların (plural), why is the participle yapacağı singular instead of yapacakları?
For human subjects like insanlar, both the singular yapacağı and plural yapacakları are grammatically acceptable in this structure. Using the singular form is extremely common and often preferred when referring to an indefinite or generalized group of people, which fits perfectly with birtakım (some/a number of).
Why does insanlar take the genitive suffix -ın?
In Turkish subordinate clauses formed with participles like -dIk or -(y)AcAk, the subject of the embedded clause must be in the genitive case. İnsanların acts as the subject of the manipulation, pairing with the possessive suffix on yapacağı to literally mean 'people's future manipulating'.
