Learn Turkish: Penguenlerin şu an yüzüyor olması en güzel manzara. - The penguins swimming right now is the most beautiful scenery.

This is the core of the continuous nominal clause! Using the present continuous yüzüyor followed by olması emphasizes the ongoing, right-now nature of the action. Using yüzmeleri would mean their swimming in a general sense, but yüzüyor olması specifically means the fact that they are swimming right now.

Why does penguenler take the genitive suffix -in to become penguenlerin?

In Turkish nominal clauses, the subject of the embedded clause takes the genitive case. Since the penguins are the ones performing the action, they are marked with the genitive -in to link with the possessive suffix on olması, functioning much like saying the penguins' being swimming.

Since penguenlerin is plural, why is the verbal noun olması singular instead of the plural olmaları?

In Turkish grammar, when a plural subject is non-human (like animals, plants, or inanimate objects), its corresponding verb or verbal noun usually remains in the third-person singular. Because of this rule, olması is the most natural choice here.

Why isn't there a to be suffix on the end of the sentence, like manzaradır?
