Learn Turkish: Komşunun çocukları yine odada tepiniyor olmalı. - The neighbor's children must be stomping in the room again.

This structure expresses a strong, logical guess about an action happening right now. You take the main verb with the present continuous suffix (tepiniyor, meaning "is stomping") and add the helper verb olmak with the necessity suffix (olmalı, meaning "must be"). Combined, they create the continuous deduction: "must be (currently) stomping."

What exactly does the verb 'tepinmek' mean in this context?

Tepinmek means to stomp, thrash about, or kick one's feet. It is heavily associated with children having a tantrum, jumping around noisily, or making a lot of heavy foot traffic. It's the perfect descriptive verb for noisy upstairs neighbors!

The subject is plural (çocukları), so why is the verb singular (olmalı) instead of 'olmalılar'?

In Turkish, when a third-person plural subject is explicitly stated in the sentence (like Komşunun çocukları), you do not strictly need to add the plural suffix -lar to the verb. While tepiniyor olmalılar is grammatically correct, leaving the verb singular (olmalı) is extremely common and often preferred for conversational flow.

Can you break down the suffixes in 'Komşunun çocukları'?

This is a standard definite noun compound (genitive-possessive). Komşu (neighbor) gets the genitive suffix -nun to mean "the neighbor's". Çocuklar (children) gets the third-person possessive suffix -ı to link the children back to the neighbor. Together, they form "the neighbor's children."
