Where is the word for "it" in the Turkish sentence?
In Turkish, context is everything! Because it is obvious what you are being asked to read, the direct object (like "it" or "this") is often left out. The sentence literally translates to "Again read, please."
Why does the verb oku not have any endings here?
Using the bare root of a verb is how you give a direct command to one person (the informal "you") in Turkish. To tell someone "Read!", you just strip the dictionary ending from okumak (to read) and use the root oku.
How does this verb root work with the present continuous -iyor ending from this lesson?
The root oku ends in the vowel u. The rule for vowel narrowing only applies to verbs ending in the wide vowels a or e. Since u is already a "narrow" vowel, it does not need to change. You simply add -yor directly to the root to get okuyor (is reading).
Could I put lütfen at the beginning of the sentence instead?
Yes, you can! The word lütfen (please) is very flexible. Both Lütfen tekrar oku and Tekrar oku, lütfen are perfectly natural ways to ask this.
