Questions & Answers about Bu krem sadece leke silmek için değil, aynı zamanda parlatmak için.
Why does için appear twice in this sentence? Can I just say "sadece leke silmek değil, aynı zamanda parlatmak için"?
You need to repeat için because the conjunction sadece ... değil, aynı zamanda ... connects two parallel grammatical structures. Since the cream is "for wiping" and "for polishing", both verbs (silmek and parlatmak) need their own için to maintain that balance.
The lesson says the structure is usually "sadece ... değil, aynı zamanda ... (da)". Why is there no da at the end here?
The da (meaning "also" or "too") at the end of this structure is optional. Adding it emphasizes the "also" part, but aynı zamanda (literally "at the same time") already does that job well on its own. You could add da at the very end (...parlatmak için de), but it's not strictly necessary.
Why is it just leke (stain) and not plural (lekeler) or specific (lekeleri)?
In Turkish, when we talk about a general category or type of action rather than specific items, we often use the singular, unmarked form of the noun right before the verb. Leke silmek acts like the general concept of "stain wiping" or "spot erasing."
Where is the verb "is" in this sentence? Shouldn't there be a -dir at the end?
