Maximizing Capacity: "-ebildiği kadar"

To describe doing something to the absolute maximum of your ability, use the ability suffix, the object participle, and the postposition kadar.

Verb + -(y)abil / -(y)ebil + -dik / -diğ- + possessive ending + kadar

For "as much as you can," the possessive ending is -in (-ebildiğin kadar).

You can place a noun right after kadar to mean "as many [noun] as you can."

Other Subjects

Because this structure uses possessive endings, it changes to match the subject. For a third-person subject, use -i or -ı (-ebildiği kadar).

For "as much as I can," use -im (-ebildiğim kadar). For "as much as we can," use -imiz (-ebildiğimiz kadar).

As Much As Possible: "-ebildiğince"

Another common way to express maximum extent is by replacing kadar with the suffix -ce or -ca attached directly to the possessive ending.

This is most frequently seen with the verb olmak (to be) as the set phrase olabildiğince ("as much as possible"). It often appears before an adjective or adverb.
