### The Genitive Case with Yanı Sıra

**Yanı sıra** acts as a postposition. The noun it follows must take the genitive suffix: **-in**, **-ın**, **-un**, or **-ün**. If the noun ends in a vowel, use the buffer letter **n** (**-nin**, **-nın**, **-nun**, **-nün**).

For example, *maaş* (salary) becomes *maaşın yanı sıra* (besides the salary).
