The Recent Past with เพิ่ง
To express that an action "just" happened or was completed "recently," Thai uses the adverb เพิ่ง. Simply place เพิ่ง immediately before the main verb.

| That celebrity just got married. | ดารา คน นั้น เพิ่ง แต่งงาน ครับ |

Thai has adopted several English words for digital communication, such as โพสต์ (to post) and แชร์ (to share). You can combine these with เพิ่ง to talk about the latest updates on your feed.

Whether at work, in the media, or chatting with family, you will often need to discuss a recent ประกาศ (announcement / to announce) or a new ข้อความ (message).

You can also use this structure to share gossip or breaking ข่าว (news), such as when a couple decides to เลิกกัน (break up).
