To emphasize the extreme degree or extent of something, you can use the modifiers ขนาดนี้ and ขนาดนั้น. These literally translate to "this size" and "that size," but in everyday conversation, they mean "this much" (or "this [adjective]") and "that much."
Place the modifier directly after the adjective you are emphasizing. It is often used to express shock, awe, or a strong reaction to something right in front of you.
Use ขนาดนั้น to express an extreme degree regarding something further away, or to contrast a situation with your prior expectations.
Emphasizing Positive Features
When viewing apartments, you will naturally evaluate the space. These degree modifiers frequently pair with descriptions like ทำเล (location) and โปร่ง (airy), or the verb ดู (to look or seem).
Evaluating Space and Layout
You can apply this same pattern to complain about or praise specific structural features, such as the ceiling (เพดาน), a balcony (ระเบียง), or the overall footprint in square meters (ตารางเมตร).
By negating the adjective before the degree modifier, you can also express that a situation isn't quite as extreme as discussed—a very helpful phrasing when negotiating or making final rental decisions.
