Correct and incorrect actions (ผิด, ถูก)

To express that an action was executed correctly or incorrectly, Thai uses the resultative verbs ถูก (correctly) and ผิด (incorrectly).

Doing It Right

Place ถูก directly after an action verb to show it was performed correctly.

Missing the Step

When you make a mistake, place ผิด in the exact same position—immediately following the verb.

Putting It Together

Connect successes and mistakes using แต่ (but). If the verb has an object—such as shaking your hips (ส่ายสะโพก)—the resultative word follows the entire phrase.
