Questions & Answers about Vi kommer att förbättra produktionen.
Why does the sentence use kommer att instead of ska for "will"?
While ska expresses a strong personal intention or promise, kommer att is often used for plans that are already decided or objective predictions about the future. In a professional context, saying vi kommer att sounds like a factual statement about a process that is going to happen.
Is the verb förbättra related to the Swedish word for "better"?
Yes! It is built from the comparative adjective bättre (better). By adding the common prefix för- and the infinitive ending -a, it becomes a verb literally meaning to make something better, or to improve.
How do we know the grammatical gender of the noun produktion?
A very reliable rule of thumb is that international loanwords ending in -tion (like station, information, and produktion) are almost always en words. That is why it takes the definite suffix -en to become produktionen.
Since this lesson is about noun compounding, if I wanted to say "production process", would produktion take a linking 's' (foge-s)?
Yes, it would! When compounding a first word that ends in -tion with a second noun, you almost always need the morphological linking 's' (foge-s). Combining produktion and process creates the single compound noun produktionsprocess.
