Questions & Answers about Skådespeleriet är svagt, något som förstör pjäsen.
Could I use vilket instead of något som here?
Yes! You could say ..., vilket förstör pjäsen. Both vilket and något som are used to refer back to the entire previous clause rather than just a single noun. Något som often feels a bit more natural and conversational, translating literally to something that.
How is the word skådespeleriet formed?
It comes from skådespelare (actor). By adding the suffix -i, it becomes the noun skådespeleri (acting), which is an ett-word. To say the acting, we add the definite suffix -et at the end, making it skådespeleriet.
Why is it svagt and not just svag?
Adjectives must agree with the noun they describe. Since skådespeleri is an ett-word, the adjective svag (weak) gets a -t added to match it, becoming svagt.
Does förstör mean ruins or destroys?
It means both! Att förstöra can mean to physically destroy something, but it is also the standard verb for ruining an experience, an event, or a piece of art like pjäsen (the play).
