Questions & Answers about När lanserar ni produkten?
The English translation says "are you launching", but lanserar is in the present tense. Why isn't there a future tense word here?
In Swedish, it is extremely common to use the present tense to talk about the future. This happens a lot when the future context is clear, or when you are setting up a question to be answered with a time expression like om (in). You don't need a separate future helping verb like "will" or "are going to" here.
Why does the verb lanserar come before the subject ni?
This is the Swedish V2 (verb-second) rule in action. Because the sentence starts with the question word När (when), the verb must be the second element in the sentence. The subject ni (you) gets pushed to the third position.
Why use ni instead of du for "you" in this sentence?
Ni is the plural "you". When asking about a product launch, you are usually asking a company, a brand, or a team of people, so you address them as "you all" or "you guys". If you were asking a single person who created a product entirely alone, you would use du.
How does the word produkten get its ending?
The basic word for a product is en produkt. To say "the product", Swedish attaches that "en" to the end of the noun as a definite suffix, turning it into produkten.
