Why is it dig instead of du here?
Just like in English, Swedish changes the pronoun when it is the object of the verb (the one receiving the action). We use du for the subject (the one doing the action) and dig for the object. Since "you" are the one being heard here, we use the object form dig.
How is the word dig pronounced?
Even though it is spelled dig, it is pronounced exactly like the English word "day" (often written as dej in informal Swedish). The same pronunciation rule applies to the "me" pronoun, mig, which is pronounced like "may".
Why does inte come at the very end of the sentence?
In standard Swedish main clauses, the negative word inte comes after the verb. When the object of the sentence is a pronoun like dig, the pronoun usually sneaks in right before inte. So the word order is literally "We hear you not!".
How would the sentence change if I were talking to a group of people?
If you mean "you" as a plural group, you need to swap the singular object pronoun dig for the plural object pronoun er. The sentence would become: Vi hör er inte!
