Some of history's greatest inventions and discoveries were completely accidental. In Swedish, when an action or event leads to an outcome that was not planned or foreseen, we describe it using the structure kom att.
Unintentional Outcomes with "kom att"
To express that something "ended up" happening or "would eventually" happen, use kom att followed by a bare infinitive.

This structure is extremely common in historical narratives, describing how a small, random event changed everything for posterity.
