Intensifying comparatives (mycket, lite, ännu)

Intensifying Comparative Adverbs

You already know how to intensify comparative adjectives. You can use the exact same words to strengthen comparative adverbs (words that describe how an action is performed, like "faster" or "more often").

Place one of these intensifying words directly before the comparative adverb:

  • mycket (much)
  • lite (a little)
  • ännu (even)
In this course we learn the grammar much faster.
På den här kursen lär vi oss grammatiken mycket snabbare.
We practice the pronunciation a little more often than the vocabulary.
Vi övar uttalet lite oftare än ordförrådet.
You will speak even more clearly after the course.
