What is a Particle Verb?
A particle verb combines a base verb with a short particle (usually an adverb or preposition). The particle changes the verb's meaning, creating an idiom that you cannot always guess just by looking at the individual words. In spoken Swedish, the stress always falls on the particle, not the verb.
