Expressing Future Plans
To talk about your plans and intentions for the future, Swedish uses the auxiliary verb ska.

Like other auxiliary verbs, ska is followed directly by the bare infinitive of the main verb. Do not use the infinitive marker att (to).
Pair ska with time expressions like ikväll (tonight), imorgon (tomorrow), or nästa vecka (next week).
| I am going to work tonight. | Jag ska jobba ikväll. |
| We are going to travel tomorrow. | Vi ska resa imorgon. |
| I am going to go to the city next week. | Jag ska åka till staden nästa vecka. |
Questions and Negation
To ask a yes/no question, start the sentence with ska:
| Are you going to see the film tomorrow? | Ska du se filmen imorgon? |
With question words like vad (what), place ska immediately after the question word:
| What are you going to do this weekend? | Vad ska ni göra i helgen? |
To make a sentence negative, place inte (not) directly after ska:
| They are not going to travel this weekend. | De ska inte resa i helgen. |
Connecting Multiple Actions
When connecting multiple actions with och (and), you only need to use ska once. Both main verbs remain in the bare infinitive.
| We will go to the city and meet the man. | Vi ska åka till staden och träffa mannen. |
