Questions & Answers about Коллеги безусловно согласны с нами.
Why does Russian use согласны here instead of a normal verb for "agree"?
In Russian, the concept of agreeing is usually expressed using a short-form adjective rather than an action verb. согласны is the plural form of согласен, matching the plural subject коллеги.
Why is нами used after the preposition с?
The adjective согласен specifically pairs with the preposition с (with) followed by the Instrumental case to show who you are agreeing with. нами is the Instrumental form of the pronoun мы (we).
How do the parts of the word безусловно make it mean "undoubtedly"?
It is built from the preposition без (without) and the root for условие (condition). So it literally means "unconditionally," which is used in everyday Russian to mean "undoubtedly" or "absolutely."
How would I say "I agree" using this same pattern?
Because согласен acts like an adjective, its ending changes based on gender and number. A male speaker says я согласен, a female speaker says я согласна, and for plural subjects we use согласны.
