Кататься — Going For a Ride
Кататься is the verb for moving for pleasure rather than to get anywhere: skating, skiing, cycling, a boat. It is always reflexive, and the thing you do it on goes in the prepositional with на.
кататься *на велосипеде / на коньках / на лодке*
| In winter we go skating. | Зимой мы катаемся на коньках. |
Загорать — Sunbathing
Загорать means to lie in the sun, and by extension to get a tan. It belongs to the same holiday vocabulary as отдыхать.
| In summer we sunbathe at the seaside. | Летом мы загораем на море. |
Прогулка and Увлечение
A прогулка is a walk taken for pleasure — the noun of гулять. An увлечение is a passion or hobby, a stronger word than хобби: what someone is carried away by.
Его главное *увлечение — музыка.*
| His main passion is music. | Его главное увлечение — музыка. |
Дружить and Надолго
Дружить с кем-то is "to be friends with someone" — Russian has a verb where English needs a noun. Надолго answers "for how long?" about a stretch of future time, and it is one word.
Ты *надолго в Москву?* — Are you in Moscow for long?
| Have you come to Moscow for long? | Ты надолго приехал в Москву? |
