To express "the exact same" or "one and the same" in Russian, use one of two interchangeable phrases: **один и тот же** or **тот же самый**.

In both phrases, the core pronouns decline to match the gender, number, and case of the noun they describe. The emphatic particle **же**, however, never changes.

### The Base Forms

Here are the base (Nominative) forms across genders and numbers:

### Declining the Phrases
