When weighing the pros and cons of a topic—such as the benefits and risks of smart home technology—you can present contrasting perspectives using the correlative markers с одной стороны (on the one hand) and с другой стороны (on the other hand).
Because these phrases act as introductory words, they are always separated from the rest of the sentence by commas. The two perspectives are usually linked by an opposing conjunction like но (but) or а (and/while).
