Mergem în parcul mare sâmbătă.

From Lesson 48:Days of the week·Romanian

Questions & Answers about Mergem în parcul mare sâmbătă.

Why is there no word for "on" before sâmbătă?
In English, we say "on Saturday", but in Romanian, you just use the day of the week by itself to say when an event is happening. Just saying sâmbătă at the end of the sentence is perfectly enough.
Where is the word for "we" in this sentence?
The word for "we" is noi, but Romanian usually leaves it out because the verb already gives the subject away. The ending of mergem clearly shows that "we" are the ones going.
Why does parcul end with -ul?
In Romanian, the word for "the" is attached to the end of the noun instead of coming before it. The base word parc means park, and adding the suffix -ul makes it parcul, which means the park.
Why is it parcul mare instead of mare parcul?
Unlike English, where the describing word comes first (the big park), Romanian adjectives generally come right after the noun they describe. So, you say the equivalent of "the park big".
