In Portuguese, you can usually leave out subject words like eu (I) because the verb's ending already tells you who is doing the action. The verb como (from comer) specifically means "I eat", so saying eu não como is correct but not necessary.

Why do we say carne de porco instead of just porco to mean pork?

To talk about eating an animal's meat, Portuguese typically uses the phrase carne de (meat of) followed by the animal. So, carne de porco is literally "meat of pig". You will also see this with beef: carne de vaca (meat of cow).

Why doesn't the sentence translate "do not" literally?

English uses the helper word "do" to make negatives (I do not eat). Portuguese makes it much simpler: you just put não directly before the verb. So, não como translates roughly to "not I eat".

Why is it de porco and not do porco?

We use the simple preposition de (of) instead of do (of the) because we are talking about pork as a general category of food. We are saying "pig meat", not "meat of the specific pig".
