In Portuguese, to say that something happens "on" a specific day, you use the preposition em (in/on/at) combined with the word "the" (o or a). Because sábado is a masculine word, we combine em + o to make no. Literally, you are saying "in the Saturday".

Why is sábado written with a lowercase 's'?

Unlike in English, days of the week in Portuguese are not capitalized unless they appear at the very beginning of a sentence.
