### The Past Tense of "Piacere"

To express what you liked in the past, use the *passato prossimo* of *piacere*. Remember that in Italian, the thing you like is the grammatical subject—you are literally saying it "was pleasing" to you. 

Because of this, *piacere* takes the auxiliary verb **essere**, and its past participle must agree in gender and number with the thing that was liked.

### Liking a Singular Thing

If you liked a single masculine thing, the verb is **è piaciuto**.

### Liking Multiple Things

If you liked multiple things, use the plural form of *essere* (**sono**). The past participle also changes to match the plural noun:
- **sono piaciuti** for masculine plural nouns
- **sono piaciute** for feminine plural nouns

### Who Liked It?

To state *who* liked the event or object, place the indirect object pronoun (*mi*, *ti*, *gli*, *le*, *ci*, *vi*, *gli*) before the verb, just like in the present tense.
