Why is there no word for is in rapor henüz hazır değil?
In Turkish, the verb to be is often not stated in the present tense.
So instead of saying something like The report is not ready yet, Turkish literally says something closer to:
- rapor = the report
- henüz = yet / still
- hazır = ready
- değil = not
This is very normal in Turkish. With adjectives, present-tense is / am / are is usually just understood.
Examples:

What does değil do here?
