What does putujemo mean grammatically?
Putujemo is the 1st person plural present tense form of the verb putovati (to travel).
So it means we travel, we are traveling, or sometimes even we’re traveling / we travel around, depending on context.
The ending -mo is the key clue that the subject is we.
Why is there no word for we in the sentence?
In Serbian, subject pronouns are often left out when they are already clear from the verb form.
Because putujemo already means we travel, you do not need to say mi.
- Putujemo kroz zemlju. = natural
- Mi putujemo kroz zemlju. = also possible, but mi adds emphasis, like we are traveling...
This is very common in Serbian.
