Usages of το φως

• Μόλις άνοιξα το φως γιατί ήταν σκοτάδι στο δωμάτιο.: I just turned on the light because it was dark in the room.
• Μπορείτε να κλείσετε το φως, παρακαλώ;: Can you (polite) turn off the light, please?
• Είναι σκοτάδι έξω, αλλά μέσα έχουμε καλό φως.: It is dark outside, but inside we have good light.
• Πάντα ανοίγω το φως όταν είναι σκοτάδι.: I always turn on the light when it is dark.
• Κλείνω το φως όταν πάω στο κρεβάτι.: I turn off the light when I go to bed.
• Το φως στο σαλόνι φωτίζει το πράσινο τραπέζι.: The light in the living room lights up the green table.
• Λέμε ότι είναι πιο ασφαλές να έχει ο κάθε ποδηλάτης κράνος και φως στο ποδήλατο, για την ασφάλεια όλων.: We say that it is safer for every cyclist to have a helmet and a light on the bicycle, for everyone’s safety.
• Στην πόλη μου ο νόμος είναι ξεκάθαρος: απαγορεύεται να οδηγείς ποδήλατο τη νύχτα χωρίς φως.: In my city the law is clear: it is forbidden to ride a bicycle at night without a light.
• Πριν να κοιμηθώ, κλείνω την κουρτίνα στο δωμάτιο για να μην μπαίνει φως.: Before I sleep, I close the curtain in the room so that no light comes in.
• Ανάβω το μικρό φως στο γραφείο όταν έξω έχει ήδη νυχτώσει.: I turn on the small light on the desk when it is already dark outside.
• Μου αρέσει όταν το φως είναι απαλό και το δωμάτιο φαίνεται πιο ζεστό.: I like it when the light is soft and the room looks warmer.
• Το πρωί το απαλό φως από την μπαλκονόπορτα με ξυπνάει, αλλά το μεσημέρι το φως γίνεται πιο σκληρό.: In the morning the soft light from the balcony door wakes me up, but at noon the light becomes harsher.
