Why does nova end in -a?
In Esperanto, adjectives end in -a. So nova means new.
This is true no matter where the adjective appears:
- la nova trupo = the new troupe
- la trupo estas nova = the troupe is new
Adjectives also match the noun in number and case, but here everything is singular and there is no accusative, so the basic form nova is used.
