### Contrasting and comparing

> **Im Vergleich zu** gestern ist es heute warm. — Compared to yesterday it is warm today.
> **In Bezug auf** den Preis habe ich eine Frage. — With regard to the price I have a question.

**im Gegenteil** contradicts what was just said and stands alone at the front. **im Vergleich zu** and **in Bezug auf** are both multi-word prepositions — the first takes the dative, the second the accusative.

### Ending, listing, and the sudden turn

**zum Schluss** closes a text or a talk. **und so weiter** trails a list off (written *usw.*). And **auf einmal** is not *once* — it means *all of a sudden*.
