Questions & Answers about ریاضت یعنی ندیدن وسوسههای دنیوی و پیدا کردن رهایی.
How is the negative verbal noun ندیدن (not seeing) formed here?
You already know that infinitives like دیدن can act as nouns meaning "seeing". To make them negative, you simply add the negative prefix نـ directly to the infinitive, exactly as you would with conjugated verbs.
In spoken Farsi, is there a connecting ezāfe between ندیدن and وسوسههای?
Yes, it is pronounced nadidan-e vasvase-ha. When an infinitive acts as a noun, its logical object often connects to it using an ezāfe rather than the direct object marker را. The same rule applies to the second half of the sentence: peyda kardan-e raha'i.
If we wanted to say "not finding" instead of "finding", how would we negate the compound infinitive پیدا کردن?
For compound verbs, the negative prefix always attaches to the verbal part (کردن) rather than the non-verbal part. So "not finding" becomes پیدا نکردن.
How is the adjective دنیوی (worldly) formed?
It is derived from the noun دنیا (world). The suffix ـوی is an Arabic-derived ending used to transform certain nouns ending in a long vowel into adjectives.
