Questions & Answers about کانال دارد رویداد را با ماهواره پخش میکند.
How does the present progressive work in this sentence?
To say an action is happening right now, Farsi uses a form of the auxiliary verb dâshtan alongside the main verb. Here, dârad (it has) pairs with the present continuous main verb pakhsh mikonad (it is broadcasting). Notice how they act like bookends: dârad comes early, while pakhsh mikonad sits at the end of the sentence.
Why is dârad separated so far from pakhsh mikonad?
In the present progressive, the auxiliary verb (dârad) usually goes right after the subject (kânâl), or at least before the object. The main verb (pakhsh mikonad) must still go at the very end of the sentence. All the extra details, like ruidâd râ (the event) and bâ mâhvareh (via satellite), get sandwiched in between them.
Why do we need râ after ruidâd?
The word râ marks the specific direct object of the sentence. Because the channel is broadcasting a specific event (the event, rather than just an event), we must add râ right after ruidâd.
Does bâ mean via as well as with?
Yes! While you probably first learned bâ as with (as in going with a friend), it is also used to indicate the tool or method used to do an action. Here, bâ mâhvareh literally means with satellite, but translates naturally to English as via satellite or by satellite.
