Questions & Answers about به جای اینکه نگران باشی، اولویتها رو مرور کن.
Why do we use bâshi here instead of the regular present tense hasti?
The phrase be jâ-ye inke (instead of) sets up an alternative, hypothetical situation rather than a stated fact. In Farsi, this requires the following verb to be in the present subjunctive, which is why we use bâshi (that you be) instead of the regular present tense hasti (you are).
Why doesn't the subjunctive verb bâshi start with the usual be- prefix?
The verb boodan (to be) is irregular. Its present subjunctive stem is bâsh-, and unlike most verbs, it does not take the be- prefix. We just add the personal ending, making it bâshi for the second-person singular.
What is the exact function of inke in the phrase be jâ-ye inke?
Literally, be jâ-ye means in place of, and inke means this that. In Farsi, you cannot attach a preposition directly to a phrase that contains a conjugated verb. You must use inke as a bridge, essentially saying: in place of this, that you be worried.
Why is ro used after olaviyat-hâ?
The word ro is the casual, spoken form of the direct object marker râ. It is used here to mark olaviyat-hâ (the priorities) as the specific, definite things that are receiving the action of being reviewed.
Why doesn't the command morur kon have a be- prefix like bokon?
The verb morur kardan (to review) is a compound verb. For compound verbs that use kardan (to do), Farsi speakers usually drop the be- prefix when giving commands. Therefore, the imperative is simply kon instead of bokon.
