Questions & Answers about شنبه به مدرسه می‌رویم.

Why isn't there a word for "on" before شنبه (Saturday)?
In English, we say "on Saturday", but in Farsi, you usually do not need a preposition before days of the week to say when something happens. You can just state the day directly: شنبه (Saturday).
Where is the word for "we" in this sentence?
Farsi often leaves out subject pronouns like ما (we) because the verb ending already tells us who is doing the action. The ـیم (-im) at the end of the verb می‌رویم specifically means "we".
How do you get می‌رویم from the dictionary verb "to go"?
The basic verb for "to go" is رفتن (raftan). To build a present tense verb, you use its present stem, which is irregular: رو (rav). Then you add the prefix می‌ (mi-) to show it is a present action, and the ending ـیم (-im) for "we", which creates می‌رویم (mi-rav-im).
Why is می‌رویم at the very end of the sentence?
Unlike English, where verbs usually follow the subject early in the sentence, Farsi puts the main verb at the very end. The standard word order is often Time + Place + Verb.
Does this sentence mean "we go" or "we are going"?
It can actually mean both! The prefix می‌ (mi-) is used for both habitual routines (we go to school every Saturday) and ongoing or future actions (we are going to school this Saturday). You rely on the context of the conversation to know which one makes sense.
