Since Farsi often drops the subject, could we drop the word مکانیک here?
Pro-drop means you can drop pronouns (like I, you, he, or she) because the verb tells you who the subject is. However, مکانیک is a specific noun, not a pronoun. If you drop it and just say تشنه و گرسنه است, the sentence becomes "He/she is thirsty and hungry," and the listener won't know you are talking about the mechanic!
