The Past Stem of "To Be"
The Farsi infinitive for "to be" is بودن. To find the past stem of a verb, drop the final ن. For بودن, the past stem is بود.
Conjugating in the Simple Past
To conjugate a verb in the simple past, add the personal endings directly to the past stem. For the third-person singular (he/she/it), add nothing—use the raw past stem.

Use these forms to talk about where you were and how you felt. Time words like "yesterday" or "last night" are usually placed near the beginning of the sentence.
