Immediate time (hamin ke)

Expressing "As Soon As"

To link two events that happen in rapid succession, use the conjunction همین که (as soon as). Place it at the beginning of the clause describing the first action.

General Facts and Habits

To describe immediate reactions that always happen—such as scientific facts in a chemistry lab—use the present indicative tense for both actions.

Past Sequential Events

To talk about a rapid sequence of events that already happened, use the simple past tense for both actions.

Commands and the Future

When giving a command about something that hasn't happened yet, Farsi often uses the simple past tense immediately after همین که. This expresses certainty, translating literally as "as soon as it has happened, do this!"
