Immediate succession (be mahz-e)

In emergency medical situations, timing is everything. To express that an action must happen immediately after or upon a specific event, Farsi uses a specific temporal phrase:

upon / immediately after
به محضbe mahz-e

Using Infinitives

To describe an immediate succession of events, connect به محض to a full infinitive using the Ezafe. This structure translates cleanly to "Upon doing [action]" or "Immediately after doing [action]".

If the infinitive has a subject or object, it links to it with another Ezafe, creating a chain.

Using Abstract Nouns

Just like with formal conditionals, به محض is frequently paired with abstract action nouns instead of infinitives. This is especially common with medical and technical vocabulary, such as تثبیت (stabilization) or تزریق (injection).

The main clause then continues normally to describe the outcome, procedure, or command that immediately follows.
