Consequence (dar asar-e, nâshi az)

Expressing Consequence: As a Result of

When discussing the outcomes of events or natural processes, Farsi uses specific phrases to express "as a result of" or "due to."

The phrase در اثر acts as a preposition. You place it directly before the noun that represents the cause. It is frequently used to explain how an event or state came to be.

Adjectives of Result

While در اثر usually explains the cause of an action, ناشی از functions as an adjective phrase meaning "resulting from" or "caused by."

It connects a specific noun directly to its cause. Because it modifies a noun, it follows the noun it describes using the ezafe vowel link (for example, زلزله‌های ناشی از).

Describing Geological Changes

These structures are particularly useful when talking about geology (زمین‌شناسی), where changes happen gradually over time. You can combine both در اثر and ناشی از with nouns like fault lines, sediment, and erosion to describe how the earth is shaped.
