Attached Object Pronouns

In conversational Farsi, you can replace a direct object and its object marker را with a pronoun attached directly to the end of the verb. This streamlines your sentences and sounds very natural.

Here are the attached object pronouns:

Using Attached Pronouns

To use these pronouns, attach them to the very end of a fully conjugated verb.

The most common attached pronoun is ـَش (him/her/it). Notice how it attaches to the past tense verb پذیرفتم (I accepted) in this example:

These pronouns attach to the end of the verb regardless of the tense:

When the verb is negative, the negative prefix نـ stays at the front, and the pronoun still attaches to the very end:
